Champions League: Arsenal to face Barcelona in women's final

Arsenal have qualified for the final of the Women's Champions League final, thanks to a stunning 4-1 comeback win against Lyon on Sunday.

Renee Sleger's ladies progressed with a 5-3 aggregate victory.

Lyon, who were runners-up in the competition last year, held a 2-1 lead going into the second leg.

But the French side saw that advantage cancelled out after Christiane Endler bundled the ball into her own net in the fifth minute.

Mariona Caldentey then curled home Arsenal's second before the break. Seconds after the restart, Alessia Russo slotted home a third.

Nerves had seemingly been settled when Caitlin Foord rifled home a fourth on the afternoon but Daelle Melchie Dumornay pulled one back for the hosts with just under 10 minutes to go to tee up a nervy ending for the Gunners.

They will now play Barcelona, winners of back-to-back Champions League titles, at the Estadio Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon on May 24.

The Spanish club had thrashed Chelsea 8-2 in their semi-final tie.
