Patrice Evra is set to try his hand at cage fighting after announcing that Luis Suarez is his dream opponent.

Patrice Evra has done a lot since retiring as a footballer.

The Frenchman, who made 273 appearances for Manchester United between 2006 and 2014, became an internet sensation after hanging up his boots.

During his time at Old Trafford, Evra was recognised as one of the best left-backs in the world, winning five Premier League titles, the Champions League and several other major trophies.

Evra went on to play for Juventus, Marseille and West Ham before announcing his retirement in 2019.

Since then, Evra has taken on many new challenges such as football punditry, releasing an autobiography and featuring on shows such as A League of Their Own and Inside.

Patrice Evra names dream opponent for MMA debut

The former left-back has yet to discover who he will face in the cage.

But he's made no secret of who he would like to take on in a fight after name-checking former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who he battled many times on the pitch.

Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing the defender during a game at Anfield in 2011.

Despite receiving a public backing from Liverpool at the time, the FA gave Suarez an eight-game ban after two-month investigation.

Suarez would refuse to shake Evra's hand before a game at Old Trafford in 2012.
