A Nigerian photographer has shared a leaked conversation with a former client who recently called him out on social media, accusing him of being unprofessional for hanging up on her during a call.
The incident, which first occurred in 2022, resurfaced in 2025 after the client, identified as @TheCakeChancery, took to X (formerly Twitter) to recount her experience with the photographer, @Steel_Visuals, whom she described as "uncouth."
She claimed she had booked a birthday photoshoot with him but was treated rudely. In her original 2022 post, she wrote:
"Because your father is a soldier isn't an excuse to treat your client rudely because u feel you're untouchable.. this photographer said it to my face that I should get out of his studio, who the fuck am I? Small display of madness he quickly transferred my 15k to me."
Three years later, she brought the matter up again, saying:
"This is the photographer I tweeted about in 2022.. Yes he's good but he's very uncouth and unprofessional... he will threaten u with his father is a soldier when u call him out on his BS."
In response to the renewed accusations, the photographer decided to clear his name by sharing a series of posts detailing the full transaction and interactions he had with her.
He explained that she reached out via WhatsApp to inquire about a birthday shoot, and after he sent his rate card, she paid N15,000.
However, she later requested to bring her makeup artist to his studio-something that went against his studio policy, which was clearly stated in his terms and conditions.
He noted that on the morning of the shoot, she called him while he was in class. Unable to talk, he briefly answered and ended the call to avoid disrupting his lecture.
According to him, she responded rudely and mocked his understanding of English, prompting him to stop taking her calls.
"She kept calling nonstop, despite being able to chat. I had to put my phone on DnD so I could focus," he said.
He added that when she eventually arrived at his studio with her makeup artist, he politely told her the session had been canceled due to her earlier behavior.
"Nike made a scene at the studio reception. Traders and artisans from the complex came down to calm things. She rained insults and even threatened to take me to the police."
He recalled that another photographer, who witnessed the chaos, mentioned that he was the son of a soldier-which seemed to aggravate her further.
Despite the outburst, he refunded her payment in front of witnesses and asked her to leave the premises.
Still, she continued to curse and make a scene until eventually leaving.
"I later received a call from her makeup artist, begging me to proceed with the shoot, but I declined. I told her I wasn't motivated to work with Nike again, and she understood."
The photographer concluded by stating that while he had tried to remain silent over the years, he felt compelled to defend his brand.
"I've built my name and brand brick by brick, and I won't let someone who had no part in that journey tear it down."
He shared screenshots of their conversations, including chats from the start of the booking to the aftermath of the encounter.
