'I'm willing to do everything' - Super Eagles eligible claims he is ready to challenge Aina

Almere City's Hamdi Akujobi has revealed that he wants to displace Ola Aina from his position in the Super Eagles team.

Eligible to play for either the Netherlands or Nigeria, the 25-year-old has stated his strong preference is to represent the Super Eagles, the three-time African champions, in international competition.

Akujobi is seeking a major international call-up and hopes his current form will finally bring him a chance in the national team.

The Nigerian eligible star has also begged the Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, for an opportunity in the national team.

Aina set for competition in his position

Although Hamdi Akujobi can play in various roles, such as central midfield, centre-back, right wing, and wingback, his main position is right-back.

Nigeria already has strong players in this position, including Ola Aina from Nottingham Forest and Bright Osayi-Samuel of Fenerbahce.

Despite established players, Akujobi is confident he can offer a fresh perspective and compete for a place on the team.

Speaking to EaglesTracker, he said, "I love the competition (with Aina and Osayi-Samuel). I think it would make me even better. I just like competition. I have the passion and I know what I can do."

Akujobi responded passionately yet humbly when questioned about a direct message for coach Chelle.

He said, "This is hard to say because I'm actually not a man of words. I just like to show. But as I said, I'm passionate about football.

Ola Aina,

"I'm willing to do everything, I'm willing to give my body and everything to play for the national team and wear the emblem of Nigeria."

Nigeria is set to compete in a friendly tournament against Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

In the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, coach Chelle faces a selection decision at full-back. Recent tests included Aina and Osayi-Samuel, but Akujobi and the returning Ebuehi are also contenders.
