Controversial actor, Yul Edochie has left tongues wagging over claims that he received a divine message instructing him to lead people back to their traditional roots

Edochie said God called him to guide Africans toward their cultural heritage, asserting that these traditions are divinely approved and provide a path to salvation.

Expressing pride in his identity as a traditionalist, the actor criticised the lasting influence of Western culture on Africans, which he believes has made many feel ashamed of their roots.

He reaffirmed his dedication to his Igbo heritage, vowing never to be embarrassed by his traditional beliefs and practices.

He said: "God gave me a clear and direct message. Lead my people back to their traditional ways. For their ways are approved by me the Lord God Almighty.

"Oyibo people really messed us up.

They succeeded in making Africans feel inferior to them. Now many Africans are ashamed of identifying with their traditional ways and culture, because of what people will say.

"TUFIAKWA! I Chief Yul Edochie, Isi Mmili Ji Ofor 1 of Igbo Land will never be inferior to any human being. Neither will I ever be ashamed of my roots. NEVER. I'm a proud, hardcore Traditionalist."

As a self-proclaimed hardcore traditionalist, Edochie said he is set to promote and preserve African customs, encouraging others to embrace their cultural legacy without apology.
