British writer, JK Rowling has shared her reaction to the United Kingdom's Supreme Court ruling on transgender women.
The British court on Wednesday ruled that the definition of a woman under the country's equality law refers to biological sex.
The apex court declared that transgender women do not fall within the legal definition of women under the country's equality legislation.
Reacting, Rowling, in a tweet via her X account, said she was proud of the ruling.
According to the Harry Potter author, the ruling have protected the rights of women and girls across the UK.
"It took three extraordinary, tenacious Scottish women with an army behind them to get this case heard by the Supreme Court and, in winning, they've protected the rights of women and girls across the UK. @ForWomenScot, I'm so proud to know you," Rowling tweeted.
