The Man Utd teenager made his full debut in the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend.
Manchester United's heavy defeat to Newcastle will not stay in the memory for too long. Well, that is unless you are Harry Amass. The 18-year-old was handed his first senior start at St. James' Park on Sunday and caught the eye despite the wider struggles of his team.
Amass was one of five changes to the starting line up made by Ruben Amorim as the United head coach prioritised the forthcoming Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon. The teenager could be named on the bench at Old Trafford on Thursday night and will likely be handed a second competitive start when they rest players against Wolves this weekend.
He has already shown he is good enough to be given a chance in the first-team for the remainder of the season, after a positive first start that drew praise from one of United's summer transfer targets.

Harry Amass played 55 minutes as Manchester United lost 4-1 to Newcastle over the weekend, though he was withdrawn from the action with his team only one goal behind. The teenager took to social media afterwards and posted a picture from the match on Instagram, along with the caption: "Disappointing result but happy to get my first start," along with a heart emoji.
Amass was inundated with praise from his academy teammates, with the likes of Chido Obi, Ethan Wheatley and Shea Lacey among those who sent their congratulations. There was also a message of support from Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg, who has been identified as a summer transfer target by United. The 17-year-old posted a clapping hands and a flame emoji, to which one fan replied: 'United waits for you baller.'
A report back in February claimed United are 'determined not to lose out on Rigg' and he is one of their key targets this summer. It also claimed Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are both interested in the teenage midfielder, who is regarded as one of the hottest talents in world football right now.
Ruben Amorim praises Harry Amass
Speaking after the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle, Ruben Amorim did not initially spot any positives for his side but admitted he might take some encouragement from the performance when he analyses it in the coming days. "It is really difficult to look at the best things," he said in his post-match press conference. "The best thing is to focus on the next one. Analyse this one, but it is really hard to be here after this result and try to see. Maybe in a few days I will watch the game and try to take that but in this moment it is really hard to have any feeling of a good feeling about the game."
When further pressed on the performance of youngster Amass, he didn't want to get carried away, but admitted the teenager had played well against one of the best sides in the Premier League. He added: "I think he did quite well. He caught a player that is really fast, he debuted in maybe one of the hardest stadiums with one team that is in a good moment. I think he did really well. He needs to continue and we need to help all these young kids. To perform in a higher level."
