A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to call out internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, narrating how one almost scammed her of $1,500 using her profile and bank details.
In a video shared on TikTok, she explained how a man approached her, claiming his client wanted to send him a certain amount of money but needed her help to receive it.
After convincing her, she said she reluctantly shared her bank details.
The supposed client later messaged her and sent a cheque of $500.
However, he then asked her to send $50 to someone at a supermarket.
That request, she said, raised her suspicions, prompting her to investigate further.
She soon realized it was all a scam and quickly contacted her bank to report the incident and secure her account.
"I saw the money in my account and I was shocked," she recounted. "Then he said he just remembered that I should help him send like $50 to someone in a supermarket."
Her quick thinking likely saved her from falling victim to a major scam.
As her story circulated online, concerned netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions and similar experiences.
