Real reason Trump sacked female commander Pituffik Space Colonel Meyer - Pentagon

Sean Parnell, Assistant to the Secretary of Defence for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman, has explained the reason Colonel Susannah Meyer was relieved of her duty as commander of Pituffik Space.

In a terse statement on Friday, Parnell said Meyers was removed due to her actions to subvert United States of America President Donald Trump's agenda.

According to him, actions to undermine chains of command will not be tolerated at the Department of Defence.

"Actions to undermine the chain of command or to subvert President Trump's agenda will not be tolerated at the Department of Defence," he stated on X Friday.

He was commenting on an official release from Space Operations Command Public Affairs announcing the sack of Meyer on April 10, 2025.

The command said Meyer was removed because it lost confidence in her ability to lead.

"Colonel Susannah Meyers, commander of Pituffik Space Base, was removed from command by Colonel Kenneth Klock, commander of Space Base Delta 1, on April 10, 2025, for loss of confidence in her ability to lead," the statement reads.

It added that Colonel Shawn Lee has been appointed to take charge of the command.

The development comes after Meyers's email to military personnel in her command against Vice President JD Vance's comment during his visit on March 28, 2025, to Greenland.

Meyer had disagreed with Trump's VP's comment over the US's planned annexation of Greenland and the failure of Denmark to keep Greenland safe from China and Russia.

Trump had, in his second term, hinted at the possibility of the US taking over Greenland.
