A Nigerian lady has shared her ordeal after her boyfriend borrowed ₦350,000-money she had set aside to rent a shop-only to lose it gambling on a virtual game.
Her revelation, posted on the popular social media platform TikTok, has since gone viral.
In the post, she recounted how her boyfriend convinced her to lend him the money after she mentioned she had it.
She explained that she had learned a skill through a program that provided her with funds to set up a shop, while the money for equipment was entrusted to her parents.
However, after lending the money to her boyfriend, she later suspected that he used it for gambling, as she discovered a long betting slip and found no evidence of any meaningful investment.
Expressing her frustration, she stated:
"I was supposed to get a shop by now. I gave him the money, and he went to use it to play a virtual game. ₦350,000! The money was a gift from a skill acquisition program to help me set up my business."
