Fubara should not deceive himself, it was recorded when he made those statements-Samuel Nwanosike

In a revealing interview broadcast on TVC TV, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, a prominent People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Rivers State and Former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, has questioned the authenticity of what he perceives as a potential statement retraction by the state governor.

The political figure expressed skepticism regarding what he characterized as possible backtracking, suggesting external influence might have prompted a change in position. Dr. Nwanosike emphasized the public and documented nature of the original comments.

"Probably that statement is a statement of afterthought. Maybe he would have been called by friends to say, 'Oh, you are reckless, you are reckless in that statement you made. Oh, if anything happens, you will be held responsible.' The governor (Fubara) shouldn't come and be deceiving himself. He's on tape, it was a live television, it was recorded when he made those statements. It was also recorded when Peter Odili also made his own statement, and they were all made in public glare. They were not made in a separate room meeting where you can say you will deny," stated Nwanosike during the interview.

His comments highlight ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, with particular focus on accountability for public statements. By referencing both the current governor and former governor Peter Odili, Nwanosike appears to be drawing parallels between different administrations' public communications.

This intervention from a seasoned political figure adds another dimension to the evolving political discourse in Rivers State, where statements by public officials and their subsequent interpretations continue to shape the regional political landscape.
