LGI absconds as Sowore, legal team arrive for Raye's disciplinary meeting

Presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of Eti-Osa LGA of absconding after he arrived with Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, and her legal team for a scheduled disciplinary meeting.

Raye, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, recently went viral for a controversial video in which she criticized President Bola Tinubu's government and described Lagos as a "smelly state," sparking nationwide reactions.

Ushie Rita was set to appear for a disciplinary session on Monday and was accompanied by Sowore and his legal representatives, as announced earlier on X (formerly Twitter).

However, in an update shared on the same platform, Sowore claimed that the LGI was nowhere to be found upon their arrival.

"We arrived at the Eti-Osa LGI offices of the @officialnyscng with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, in Lagos. She was scheduled to appear before the LGI today, and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys @mrfestusogun, @yinka_oyesomi, and @justiceojienoh, but the LGI official had absconded, failing to show up throughout our stay," Sowore wrote.

The NYSC board is yet to issue an official statement regarding the alleged absence of the LGI or the next steps concerning Raye's case.
