Some residents of Idiomo, a lively neighborhood in Isale Eko, Lagos Island, where pop singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, grew up, have expressed disappointment over what they perceive as his neglect of his ailing father, Fatai Odunsi.

According to report, it was reported that during a visit to the community on Saturday, Newsmen observed a noticeable sense of dissatisfaction among residents who lived with Asake while growing up.
It was made known that a man, who claimed to be Asake's teacher while he was in school, Sulaimon Alade, said that the singer attended a nursery school in front of his family house in Isale Eko.
He said, "His father takes good care of him as a single father. He dropped him in school every morning. I swear with the Quran."
Further talking, he said, "After school, he went to Agboolokun his mother's house to stay till evening when his dad (Malo) returned from work. I do not know why he neglected his dad to this extent."
A woman named Adetola Oso, who claimed to be a former colleague of Fatai Odunsi (Asake's father), also confirmed that Asake's father took care of him.
Oso stated that Odunsi had always fulfilled his responsibilities as a father to Asake. She explained that they both worked at the Lagos Island Local Government, albeit in different departments, and maintained a cordial relationship until she retired from service in 2022.
