In a video that was shared by SYMFONI TV, He questioned why the assembly, led by Amaewhule, is now investigating the Chief Judge of Rivers State over alleged age falsification. He reminded everyone that Amaewhule himself had led the process to confirm the Chief Judge in 2021. "Who is fooling who?" Ihunwo asked, expressing disbelief over the situation.

Ihunwo firmly stated that Amaewhule cannot and will not become the acting governor of Rivers State. He emphasized that Rivers people, especially those from the Ikwerre ethnic group, would not support another Ikwerre person becoming governor so soon after Nyesom Wike's tenure.

"Let me say this without fear or favor, Martins Amaewhule cannot be acting governor of Rivers State; God forbid, it won't happen. I'm telling the truth: it will not happen. No right thinking Rivers man or Ikwerre Man will allow another Ikwerre Man to become governor," he said.

He claimed that Wike only became governor because he deceived former President Goodluck Jonathan, and such tactics would not work again.

He urged the people of Rivers State to stand up for the truth and fight for their future, not just for Governor Sim Fubara. Ihunwo also expressed that he was not afraid to speak out, even if it meant putting his life at risk. He called for fairness in leadership, saying that it was now time for a Riverine governor to complete their eight-year tenure, just as the Ikwerre people had their turn.
