An embalmer at a Texas funeral home allegedly cut off a dead man's pen!s and stuffed it in his mouth after learning he was a registered sex offender, cops said.
Amber Laudermilk, 34, is accused of taking a scalpel to 58-year-old Charles Roy Rodriguez's groin while she was overseeing the convicted s£x offender's body at the Memorial Mortuary & Crematory in Houston in February 2025.
She allegedly stabbed him twice before castrating him and shoving the remains down his throat, according to police.
Laudermilk carried out the alleged mutilation in front of an embalming student, authorities said.
"You didn't see anything," she allegedly warned the student just moments after mutilating the corpse.
When questioned by another employee about Rodriguez's "disfigured" groin, Laudermilk shot back that he had "a lot going on with him," charging documents state.
Rodriguez d!ed of natural causes at a Houston hospital in January, cops said.
He was listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety s£x offender registry after he was convicted of s£xually assaulting a 31-year-old woman in 2001 and given a decade of probation.
It wasn't immediately clear how Laudermilk became aware of Rodriguez's criminal history.
"This case is about two troubled people: the victim who was a registered s£x offender and the defendant, who is accused of viciously attacking his de@d body," Harris County Constable Alan Rosen said.
"No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in de@th."
"I don't know the suspect's past, but we have the utmost empathy for anyone who has been the victim of a s£xual assault or is the family or friend of someone who has been the victim of a s£xual assault," Rosen added.
"The facts clearly indicate she was angry and I hope after this is resolved in the courts, she gets the help she needs."
Laudermilk was charged with abuse of a corpse this week after the funeral home reported the alleged castration to authorities.
