According to a video that former Obio Akpor Local Government chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo shared on his page, Chief Bode George has faulted the judgement of the Supreme Court ordering the Central Bank of Nigeria to withhold Rivers allocation.
Chief Bode George stated that the judgement will bring unbearable hardship upon the people of Rivers state most especially, civil servants.
He said if the judge and other people who wrote the judgement are denied their salaries, how would they feel. He said the issue of the local government election shouldn't have been linked with Rivers allocation.
According to Chief Bode George;
"The judge and others who wrote the judgement, if they are not paid salaries, how would they survive? How would they feel? What has the issue of the Local Government election got to do with those working in Rivers state? I want every right thinking Nigerian to know that the epicenter of the economic and financial income of Nigeria is Rivers state".
