Amaewhule: Those who are celebrating it, I do not know where they are celebrating-Precious Elekima

According to the report from News Central TV, Tensions are escalating in Rivers State as Governor Siminalayi Fubara remains resolute in his stance, assuring his supporters of an inevitable victory despite growing political challenges. Speaking during the commissioning of the Government House Staff Quarters in Port Harcourt, Fubara boldly declared, "The end of deception in the state is here," emphasizing the need for transparency and the fight for truth. He urged the people of Rivers State to take control of their future and secure their destiny, a statement that reflects his ongoing battle to maintain political stability in the state.

However, political turbulence has intensified as the State Assembly has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Governor Fubara, demanding that he present the 2025 budget. This ultimatum has sparked debates about governance, accountability, and the nature of political maneuvering in the state. The pressure is mounting on the governor to demonstrate his commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparent governance.

To shed more light on the situation, we are joined by Precious Elekima, Chairman of the Concern Rivers State Elders Forum and a former governorship candidate. Elekima, offering his perspective on the challenges facing the state, criticized recent political developments and questioned the legitimacy of the judgment that has fueled much of the current unrest.

"2024 budget, judgments had been passed, we have passed 2024, that is like casting somebody to jump to the sky, which you cannot do. Where will you get to? You can't even get to the point of a five-story building, how much more going to the sky?" Elekima said. He continued, "I think that this judgment has no basis. I don't think the judgment is even valid. Those who are celebrating it, I don't know where they are celebrating it to."

As the clock ticks down on the State Assembly's ultimatum and tensions continue to rise, the political landscape in Rivers State remains volatile. Governor Fubara's next steps will be critical in determining whether his administration can maintain control or whether the mounting pressure will force a shift in the state's political dynamics.
