Dispatch rider caught after fleeing with customer's phone, tries to wipe it at repair shop

A dispatch rider has been caught after fleeing with a customer's phone and attempting to have it flashed at a phone repair shop.

This was revealed in a trending post on TikTok, where a lady narrated her unpleasant experience with the rider, describing him as a thief.

According to her, her friend had forgotten her phone and bag with her after a church program.

Since her friend was busy with activities at the event, the lady kept the bag with her and only realized later that her friend had left it behind.

The next day, she asked her brother to arrange a dispatch rider to deliver the items to her friend at Jakande First Gate.

However, the dispatch rider absconded with the phone and bag and repeatedly denied being the one who accepted the delivery order when contacted.

The situation took a turn when the rider visited a phone engineer's shop to have the phone wiped.

Thankfully, the engineer, upon discovering the situation, contacted the rightful owner, leading to the rider being traced and caught.

Sharing her frustration online, the lady wrote:

"Beware of this thief disguised as a dispatch rider. My friend forgot her phone and bag with me on Friday, so I asked my brother to give them to a rider for delivery on Saturday afternoon to Jakande First Gate. Since then, this guy has been driving me crazy."

"We called him yesterday, and he kept denying he was the one. I had even started pricing a new phone to replace hers."

"I had already decided to give her my second phone, until someone from Ajah market called to say the phone had been found. This bastard went to Ajah to flash the phone."
