Man Utd leave shock player out of Europa League squad as Ruben Amorim handed huge blow for Real Sociedad clash

Manchester United will be without one of their biggest academy prospects for the remainder of their Europa League campaign.

Ruben Amorim's side will travel to the Basque Country this week as they take on La Liga side Real Sociedad in the Europa League last 16 first leg.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham on Sunday, the Reds will be looking to bounce back with a positive result on Thursday night.

But they will be without Chido Obi as the teenage forward was not included in their revised squad list for the UEFA competition.

The 17-year-old, who impressed on Sunday after replacing Rasmus Hojlund, was not registered when United submitted their initial squad list for the Europa League back in September.

He also missed on the revised squad last month, when Amorim decided to include January signings Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to his squad.

Chido Obi then made his United debut on February 16 against Spurs but despite his emergence, he is unable to be included in the remainder of United's Europa League campaign.

As per UEFA regulations, only club-trained players born on or after 1 January 2003, who have been with their employers for an uninterrupted period of a minimum of two years, are allowed to be considered for selection on the B-List.
