A Nigerian man has reportedly been jailed after exposing a pastor who allegedly hires people to give fake testimonies in his church.
This revelation surfaced after a woman who attended the same church was caught giving a false testimony, claiming she purchased a house worth ₦500 million.
This was disclosed in a post shared on the popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
The incident comes shortly after the woman in question was exposed for lying about buying a ₦500 million house, attributing the purchase to divine blessings she allegedly received at the church.
The woman was said to have attended the church owned by Pastor Ebuka Obi, where she publicly testified that God's blessings enabled her to afford the multi-million naira property.
However, after her claims were debunked, a statement began circulating online, alleging that Pastor Ebuka Obi had previously arranged for a Nigerian man to be imprisoned for exposing his fake prophecies and staged testimonies.
Reacting to the situation, the woman took to social media and wrote: "This is exactly what @IjeleSpeaks2 has been saying about Ebuka Obi. It's now been a year since Ebuka, with the help of some corrupt magistrates and police officers, threw an innocent man in prison - all because he exposed the fake testimonies in Ebuka's church."
"They kept him in prison for a whole year without taking him to court to prove his innocence."
As the post gained traction, the woman also tagged several prominent individuals, drawing attention to the case.
The post quickly went viral, prompting many concerned Nigerians to flood the comment section to share their thoughts and reactions.
See some reactions below:
@_chiefagbabiaka: "Now is the time for all to come together and speak against Ebuka and everyone join hands together with him for this evil act."
@OlumoRoxx: "It's a shame he is still in prison. Why was he abandoned and forgotten. Why are his people or family not fighting for his release. Can @egi_nupe___ please help look into this? Please."
@speciee: "I remember a post one time when twas said that Ijele said he prefers Adeyanju to be his lawyer.. and things went south from there."
@bigNenye: "Ebuka Obi is real and this woman will join him in prison too."
@UR_VILAGEPEOPLE: "That's wrong ! I am not a fan of ebuka and don't even know him ,but that guy was locked up for a crime of trafficking."
@sweetbelarosy: "All blame goes to the blaze lawyer he's using. How can someone reasonable be using Adeyanju to defend him?"
@bubbleburstee: "Ijele is in jail for human trafficking not because of pastor Ebuka. Stop looking for ways to bring down IGBOs preachers. Go for yoruba pastor's in human rituals and skull mining."
@emenikeemmanue6: "Ijele was actually an idiot and illitrate that came of facebook and threatened to kpai Ebuka, even demonstrated how he will do it. Of course he should be sued to court and legal process should follow."
