In an official statement, Galatasaray expressed their outrage over Mourinho's post-match comments, vowing to take legal steps, saying, "Since arriving in Turkiye, Fenerbahce's head coach Jose Mourinho has consistently made derogatory remarks about Turkish people.

"Today, he escalated his offensive comments to an inhumane level. We will file a criminal complaint against Mourinho for his racist remarks and submit a formal complaint to UEFA and FIFA."

The controversy erupted after Mourinho, during his post-match press conference, claimed that the Galatasaray bench had been pressuring the referee to issue a card to Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek early in the game.

The Portuguese manager said, "I have to thank the referee because, in that situation, everyone on the other bench was jumping like monkeys."

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk also responded strongly to Mourinho's remarks, mocking the Fenerbahce boss in his own press conference.

The goalless draw at RAMS Park saw Galatasaray maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig, leaving Fenerbahce with an uphill battle in the title race.
