'How We Stopped Supporting a Man Who Said God Told Him Not to Work' - Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the founder and senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), has cautioned Christians against idleness, emphasizing that faith should not be an excuse for laziness.

Speaking in a recent YouTube video, he recounted an incident where his ministry stopped supporting a man who claimed that God instructed him not to work.

According to Fatoyinbo, it is normal for people to face financial difficulties temporarily, regardless of their wealth. However, he argued that making joblessness a lifestyle is a sign of a flawed understanding of being born again. "Everybody can go through things for a while. No matter how rich you are, you can go through things for a while. But if that's your lifestyle, then there's a problem with the born again you got and your concept of it," he said.

Encouraging men to take responsibility, he stated, "It doesn't matter if your wife is richer than you for now-it's for now. It doesn't matter if your spouse is doing better than you-it's for now. Don't rest there. As a Christian, don't be lazy. Jesus said, 'My Father works, therefore I work.'"

Fatoyinbo recalled meeting a man who professed spirituality but declared, "God told me not to work." The pastor noted that this statement led to the immediate withdrawal of support from the man, citing the biblical principle: "If you don't work, you must not eat."

Criticizing a culture of dependency, he described men who wait at lounges for politicians to give them handouts, saying, "Is that the way you want to live? You do one contract in 2025, and the next one in 2030? No! That is not the grace inside you."

He concluded by reminding believers that the grace of God empowers them to thrive, urging them to take action and shine in their endeavors.
