In a recent video on YouTube, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), delivered a powerful message of divine purpose and destiny at the recent Light Up Lagos Crusade. Addressing a large congregation, he reflected on his personal journey and how God redirected his path from academia to ministry.
The revered cleric emphasized that human ambition is limited, but when God's light shines on a person, their true destiny is revealed. He encouraged the congregation to seek divine direction, stating that many people go through life without knowing why they were created.
Pastor Adeboye's testimony served as a testament to God's power to redefine lives. Once a promising academic in the field of mathematics, he had his sights set on becoming Africa's youngest Vice-Chancellor. He had already achieved remarkable success, rising to the position of acting Head of Department at a Nigerian university. However, just months before his promotion to full professor, God intervened, leading him into full-time ministry.
Today, Pastor Adeboye leads one of the world's largest Christian movements, with RCCG branches spanning over 190 nations. Under his leadership, the church established Redeemer's University, an institution that has produced distinguished graduates in various fields.
In his sermon, he urged the audience to surrender their ambitions to God, assuring them that divine purpose far exceeds human aspirations. "Whatever is the original plan of God for your life, when the light of God shines on you tonight, you will make a discovery!" he declared.
According to him, "Today, I am not the youngest Vice-Chancellor in the world, but there are many Vice-Chancellors who call me Daddy. I never became a Vice-Chancellor, but by the grace of God, through me, God has started a university. Whatever is the original plan of God for your life, when the light of God shines on you tonight, you will make a discovery."
