Man Utd fans have lot to say about Chido Obi after performance vs Everton, 'madness' point couldn't be more clear

Manchester United fans were all on the same wavelength about Chido Obi-Martin after his performance in the 2-2 draw against Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Ruben Amorim's men were outclassed in the first half at Goodison Park and were 2-0 down going into half-time against Everton in the Premier League clash this weekend.

Beto opened the scoring at Goodison Park inside the opening 20 minutes after Manchester United failed to clear the ball from an Everton corner.

Abdoulaye Doucoure then doubled the advantage for David Moyes' men, with Andre Onana and Harry Maguire at fault for preventing Everton's second of the match.

Ruben Amorim's side rallied back late in the second and Bruno Fernandes superbly converted from a free-kick past Everton's Jordan Pickford in the 72nd minute.

Man Utd fans on Chido Obi vs Everton

Chido Obi-Martin was highly rated during his time in the Arsenal youth academy and the 17-year-old talented forward completed his move to Old Trafford in 2024.

Ruben Amorim handed Chido Obi his Manchester United debut last Sunday after the youngster came off the bench late in the 1-0 away defeat to Tottenham.

The United player only played a minute against Spurs in the Premier League, but Chido Obi had more first-team minutes in the clash with Everton.

Chido Obi might not have scored or assisted against Everton, but the youngster did enough for United fans to send a clear message about him.

Red Devils supporters took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, and urged Amorim to play the former Arsenal academy product ahead of Rasmus Hojlund.

"Chido Obi done more in 20 [minutes] than Hojlund. Give him a run in the starting 11," one fan said.

Someone else added: "Chido Obi-Martin put in a better shift than Hojlund today. Don't let that go unnoticed, guys."

"Chido Obi did more than Rasmus Hojlund did 'till he [the latter] was substituted," a third tweeted.

Another posted: "Chido Obi just has to start the next match over Hojlund."

A fifth X user wrote: "Chido Obi's hold-up play looks better than Hojlund's."

Someone else commented: "Chido Obi's performance suggests he is ready for [first] team football. Hojlund is short of confidence and Obi needs game time."

"Chido Obi, I've seen enough of him to start him ahead of Hojlund," another claimed.

While an eighth supporter suggested: "Just play Chido Obi henceforth. It's madness to keep enduring Hojlund's current form."

Amorim reacts to Man Utd draw vs Everton

Speaking after Saturday's 2-2 draw, Amorim said United "were soft" in the match and was not happy with his players losing the ball without being under pressure.

"We need to win three points and we need to win the whole game," he told TNT Sports, as per BBC Sport.

"The worst part is that we are losing the ball without pressure and we are not doing what we need to do. We were soft."
