Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, during his sermon at the Covenant Hour of Prayer meeting, emphasized the power of serving God, stating that it would place believers beyond the reach of curses. He shared a personal encounter to back up his point.
"Serving God brings you and me under His blessings that make us uncurseable," he declared.
He read from Numbers 23:8 and verses 19-20 which was the story of Balaam's attempt to place a curse on the people of Israel, and how each time, God prevented him from doing so. According to him, no demonic curse can withstand the power of God's blessings.
The cleric further urged believers to focus on service rather than lamentations.
"You don't need any crying-just serve God and come under His blessing. He will level out the curses. No curse of devils can stand in the way of God's blessings," he assured.
He continued by sharing his encounter with a woman who tried to place a curse on him, and how he was unmoved about it.
"Many years ago, I overtook one woman in Ife, and so I parked by a filling station to get some fuel. She came out with her eyes glowing and said, 'You are doing like that, you'll never get to where you're going.'"
"I said, 'Now the battle lines are drawn. I either get there, or you don't get there. As soon as I get there, you will hear. I gave it back to her. One must go-that's the line, and you will be the one to go. I'm on the King's highway. I'm on the King's mission.'"
Concluding his message, Bishop Oyedepo reaffirmed that believers can escape curses by embracing God's blessings, which they could do by committing their lives to serving God.
"Life is so interesting. You can free yourself from curses by bringing yourself under His blessings. His blessings are irreversible by any wicked devil," he declared.
