A 31-year-old mother of three has taken to social media to express her frustration after a 25-year-old man she flew to meet in Atlanta refused to book a $300 hotel for her-despite frequently flaunting between $20,000 and $30,000 online.
Her story, which has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), details how their relationship began.
According to her, the man first reached out to her on Instagram while she was in the Bahamas celebrating her son's birthday in January.
After checking his profile and seeing his lavish lifestyle-complete with luxury cars, expensive watches, and what appeared to be a house of his own-she decided to engage with him. They exchanged contacts and began talking.
In her words:
"I flew to another state to meet this young, rich guy. I met him on the internet. I was in the Bahamas at the beginning of January for my son's birthday when he DM'd me on Instagram."
"He said he needed me, and we exchanged numbers. He's a fine boy. I love dark-skinned men-he's so fine. Online, he has two watches, six cars, and supposedly owns his house."
After much back and forth, they agreed to meet on Valentine's Day, and she booked a flight to see him. However, before she landed, the man asked her to book a hotel for herself.
She struggled to find one but eventually found a room that cost around $300. When she asked if he would cover the cost, the conversation turned into an argument.
She expressed disappointment, saying that despite his repeated online displays of wealth, he refused to pay for a hotel room that cost only a fraction of what he often flaunted.
