Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr, the resident pastor of Faith Tabernacle and son of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church, in his Sunday service sermon has warned people who arrange fake marriages in order to survive abroad on the dangers of building their lives on a faulty foundation.
The man of God mentioned the lying spirit as one of the controlling spirits keeping people in bondage. He lamented that, in pursuit of opportunities, people have resorted to telling all sorts of lies.
Specifically targeting those involved in fake marriages for the purpose of living abroad, the man of God warned that living with a faulty foundation would lead to an insecure future.
"Now listen to me, some people in the name of opportunity, the lies that they tell. Oh! The lies! Some individuals will go and do arranged marriage. Some persons even the name that they have, they are not sure which one to answer. You call him John but he is also James and he's also Ibrahim; same person, in the name of opportunity," he lamented.
He recalled a case where the husband and wife were married to different people under different names, and the children were split between them, just so they could live abroad.
"You see? We have to come to a point where what matters to us is pleasing God. I saw a terrible case some years ago, husband, wife, children; all of them - different names. Husband has his own name, married to somebody else. Wife, has her own name, married to somebody else. Children, divided under different names. Now, in the name of opportunity. When the foundation of a thing is destroyed, the future is not secured."
