A viral video of graduating students celebrating their sign-out party with an unusual 'garri recipe' has sparked mixed reactions online.
The clip, shared by a TikTok user @amdavidlasty, captured the bizarre food experiment at a Garri Fest event. In the footage, a male student was seen preparing a massive bowl of garri with an unexpected mix of ingredients, leaving onlookers stunned.
He added milk, granola, grapes, a keg of groundnuts, and-most shockingly-two bottles of alcoholic beverages to the cassava flakes. As he poured the alcohol into the mixture, the crowd erupted in surprise, since garri is traditionally not consumed with alcohol.
The unusual combination has since triggered a wave of reactions from netizens. While some found the creativity amusing and dubbed it "rich man garri," others expressed concern over the potential health risks of mixing alcohol with garri.
"This generation will not cease to amaze me," one user commented, while another joked, "From garri to cocktail, what a time to be alive!"
Despite the mixed opinions, the video has continued to trend, with many debating whether the unconventional meal was appropriate in a school environment or whether the recipe could be an impending disaster.
