Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently delivered a lecture in which he strongly condemned the international community's depiction of Iran as a terrorist state, drawing a comparison between these allegations and what he saw as Israel's ignored regional operations. According to him, it's hypocritical to label Iran as a terrorist group while ignoring the role of the Zionists, who are responsible for the mass graves of innocent women and children. "Human rights advocates" are nothing more than dishonest people. Pezeshkian stressed Iran's desire for nonviolence, saying, "We don't seek war; we want peace."

The recent military actions in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah have contributed to the rising tensions in the Middle East, which have prompted this remark. Pezeshkian spoke before the UN General Assembly, denouncing Israeli military activities and drawing attention to the large number of civilian deaths that have occurred as a result. He stated that "Israeli state terrorism over the past few days in Lebanon, followed by a massive aggression with thousands of victims, cannot go unanswered."

Additionally, Pezeshkian blasted nations that, in his opinion, hinder international attempts to address these kinds of problems, even though they claim to be human rights champions. The words made by the Iranian president also show how frustrated he is with the United States and other Western countries' policy against Iran. Given the recent re-imposition of sanctions and the "maximum pressure" campaign to curtail Iran's nuclear program, Pezeshkian has previously questioned the sincerity of U.S. intentions for diplomatic conversations.

During a speech honoring the 1979 Islamic Revolution anniversary, he made the following comment: "The enemies attempt to tell the world that Iran is seeking [an] atomic bomb, while Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has emphasized that the country is not after nuclear weapons."
