Manchester United Fans Lose Patience After Another Onana Mistake

According to a report released by Goal, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana faces intense scrutiny after a costly error handed Tottenham Hotspur an early advantage in their Premier League clash. Frustrated fans flooded social media, calling his mistake "embarrassing" and likening it to a video game blunder.

United, struggling in the lower half of the table, fell behind when Son Heung-min delivered a cross that Noussair Mazraoui only partially cleared. Lucas Bergvall seized the loose ball and fired a shot toward goal. Onana got his hands to it but failed to push it away from danger, instead parrying it directly into the path of James Maddison, who capitalized from close range.

The goalkeeper's handling has been under question before, and patience among United supporters appears to be wearing thin. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration:

@StrettyDave: "Onana is absolutely shocking. Come for the ball! Bin."

@NovBaII: "That's a FIFA goal. Onana is so bad."

Sani: "This is what happens when you don't take your chances. Onana is embarrassing."

Alexei: "Onana is a liability."

Gerry Deakin: "Onana has cost us more goals than De Gea ever did. But agendas will be agendas."

Although Onana's misstep proved costly, United's defensive reaction was equally concerning. As Bergvall struck the shot, only Maddison moved into the open space inside the box. United's defense, including Matthijs de Ligt, failed to track his run, allowing Spurs an easy finish.

The defeat further deepens United's struggles, with injuries already affecting their campaign. Fans are growing increasingly restless as the club finds itself far from where they expect to be in the standings.

With a challenging fixture against a resurgent Everton under former United manager David Moyes looming, pressure continues to mount. Onana and his teammates must respond quickly to turn their season around. The question remains: will he redeem himself, or is United in need of a change between the posts?
