Man United youngster of Nigerian decent, Chido Obi-Martin changes name

Manchester United youngster, Chido Obi-Martin has asked to change his name.

According to SportBible, the former Arsenal youngster's has been met by Manchester United and he would now go by the name Chido Obi.

This means that there is no longer Martin attached to his name.

The youngster, who is of Nigerian decent, plays for Denmark at international level.

Manchester United have also updated his name according to his request on their official website.

Chido moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in October 2024 after his schoolboy deal expired at the Emirates.

During his time at the Emirates, the youngster netted 32 times and provided three assists in 21 games for the north London side's U-18s.

He has since contributed 12 goals and provided one assist in nine games for the Red Devils side.

Chido is high rated at Old Trafford with the U18 manager, Adam Lawrence saying about him, "He wants to score goals and get himself into those positions, but I was really pleased with him just in terms of his link-up play - not just stretching and running in behind but recognising when to show into feet, how to use his body to shield the ball and when to bring others into play,,' as quoted by SportBible.

He will be hoping to be added to the Red Devils' first team sooner rather than later.
