Iran Reacts to Israel strikes on Nuclear Facilities

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a strong warning against potential Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, asserting that any attack will only lead to the rapid expansion of the country's nuclear capabilities.

Speaking on Thursday, Pezeshkian stated, "They threaten us that they will hit nuclear facilities... If you (the enemy) strike a hundred of those, we will build a thousand other ones."

According to Jerusalem Post, he emphasized that while infrastructure can be destroyed, Iran's ability to rebuild and expand remains intact.

His remarks came after reports from The Washington Post suggested that U.S. intelligence believes Israel is preparing to launch a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear sites by mid-2025.

The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post also claimed that Israel is considering targeting Iran's Fordow and Natanz nuclear facilities.

Tensions between Israel and Iran have been escalating, with speculation growing over an Israeli military response to Iran's nuclear advancements.

A recent satellite image showed damage at Iran's Khojir rocket motor casting facility, reportedly caused by an Israeli airstrike on what was believed to be part of Iran's past nuclear weapons program.

Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, while Israel and its allies fear Tehran is moving closer to acquiring nuclear weapons.

With Pezeshkian's latest statement, the region faces the possibility of heightened conflict, as Iran signals its readiness to retaliate and expand its nuclear efforts if attacked.
