Student shares evidence as classmates joke about kidnapping, killing, and using her for ritual

A Nigerian student has taken to social media to share disturbing evidence of her classmates tarnishing her reputation and making unsettling jokes about kidnapping, killing, and using her for ritual purposes.

In a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter), she recounted how she stumbled upon a discussion in her school's group chat, where her name was mentioned in a disturbing context.

She revealed that while she often ignores the chats, she recently decided to go through them and was shocked to find classmates openly discussing their dislike for her. Some even went as far as joking about harming her.

"Something happened last night, and all day I've wrestled with being the bigger person, wondering if it's enough to just move on or if I'm supposed to do something about it. So, girls, I need your opinions on a potentially dangerous thing. Please read my thread without any bias."

She explained that the situation began when her class group engaged in an anonymous chat.

As messages flooded in, she eventually came across one where someone confessed their hatred for her-mocking her walk, laugh, and even her self-made wig.

"Fine, it's valid. People are allowed to be cowards and hate me behind my back," she wrote.

However, what deeply unsettled her was when a girl publicly declared her hatred and suggested using her for rituals to stop her from being "a waste of space." Another classmate agreed, and they laughed about it openly.

Realizing the seriousness of the comments, she took screenshots as evidence but was unsure of what action to take.

"I mean, what would you do if someone even jokingly suggested they hate you enough to kill you?"

She further explained that the girl who initiated the discussion had been holding a grudge since their first encounter.

When the student had refused to let her touch her hair and nose ring, she took offense and had seemingly disliked her ever since.

Another girl, who supported the disturbing joke, was someone who owed her money-a debt left unpaid for over a year.

"To think she'd be at the forefront of publicly discussing killing me now is funny."

While another classmate called out the instigator-mocking her for her weight-it did little to ease the student's fears.

"That's not enough for me. I think if someone openly says stuff like that, then they're dangerous."

She expressed her growing concern for her safety, questioning whether she should ignore the situation or take action before it escalates.

"So far, I've always minded my business. But now, should I ignore this and move on, hoping they're not evil enough to actually kidnap me, set me up, or pour acid on me one day?"

As she shared her ordeal, many social media users flooded the comment section with advice, urging her to take the matter seriously and report it to the appropriate authorities.

See some reactions below:

@AdekunleAyan: "Pls where was the class Governor in all of these. He should be the first to take it up by reporting to the department/course adviser."
