Marcus Rashford wants to 'stay on good terms' with Man United unlike Jadon Sancho

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have recently sent two high-profile players out on loan.

Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on loan last summer, with a clause that requires Chelsea to buy him permanently if they finish in the top 14 of the Premier League. Since the Blues are pushing for a top-four finish and are likely to end up in the top 15, Manchester United could earn a £20 million transfer fee from the deal.

Marcus Rashford also left the club, joining Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. After making his debut for his new team, the 27-year-old shared a picture on Instagram. In response, Sancho commented "Freedom," which appeared to be a jab at Manchester United. This remark angered many of the club's supporters.

As reported by The Daily Mail, "Rashford wants to stay on good terms with the club and supporters, does not appreciate being dragged into Sancho's tensions with United." Unlike Sancho, Rashford remains well-liked by the fans, and Aston Villa have the option to make his move permanent for £40 million in the summer.

Sancho, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a significant fee, struggled to perform at Old Trafford.

Despite being given a mid-season break by former manager Erik ten Hag to focus on his mental and physical well-being, he was unable to justify the club's faith in him. Because of this, he is unlikely to receive a warm welcome when he eventually returns as an opponent.

Rashford should avoid following Sancho's path. He represents what can happen when a gifted academy graduate rises through the ranks to become a top professional.
