Dr. Paul Enenche, the founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Center, has expressed disapproval of the mindset of certain Christians who place more importance on accumulating wealth than on developing their spirituality when they attend church.
The senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre recently gave a sermon on YouTube in which he expressed disappointment over people who come to church primarily to seek wealth, contracts, and marriage instead of serving God.
Enenche shared a story about how he found his wife with the help of divine guidance while he was serving in ministry, using his own experience as an example. He made it clear that he was not looking for a wife, but was instead completely focused on the task that God had given him when the revelation occurred.
However, he expressed his disappointment that many people today come to church with the wrong attitude. He said, "You see, there are people who, on the first day they arrive at church, are already searching for a wife, searching for a husband, searching for a contract, searching for money, searching for blessings."
He encouraged believers to reflect on their motivations and to make sure that their priorities are in line with God's kingdom. "What have you done for God?" He asked, "How involved are you in the Kingdom assignment?"
As Matthew 6:33 says, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Enenche emphasized that God will provide for those who sincerely seek Him. He cautioned against a transactional approach to faith, in which people view the church as simply a place to gain personal benefits instead of a place for spiritual transformation.
He also reminded them that true fulfillment comes from being dedicated to God's work, and that material blessings are a byproduct of living a committed Christian life.
