The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has openly criticized Nigerian prosecutors and courts, accusing them of lacking adequate knowledge of the country's legal framework.
Kanu, who remains in detention, expressed his frustration during his appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, according to a video shared by TVC News.
Kanu, visibly angry, condemned what he described as systemic legal ignorance, which he believes is contributing to widespread injustice in the country.
He emphasized that the inability of prosecutors and courts to adhere to Nigeria's laws is detrimental to the nation's legal integrity.
According to Kanu, "poor knowledge of the law by Nigerian courts and Nigeria's prosecution is killing the country and orchestrating injustice in the country."
During the court session, Kanu referenced a specific federal gazetted law to underscore his point, asserting that the judiciary fails to comply with its own legal statutes.
He stated, "This is a federal gazetted law of Nigeria that says here that the chief judge of Nigeria cannot tell Binta Nyako what to do. It is here, it's your law; just obey it."
Kanu, who has long agitated for the secession of Biafra, reiterated his commitment to the cause, despite the legal challenges he faces.
"That is why I do what I do. I agitate for Biafra, I agitate for Biafra. My right to agitate-they turned it from treasonable felony now to terrorism. Stop talking when I'm talking!" he slammed.
