Prominent Nigerian preacher and founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has called on Christians to recapture the truth of Jesus Christ and ensure they address Him correctly in their prayers and songs.
In a recent video shared on his official YouTube channel, Pastor Chris emphasized that after the resurrection, Jesus was no longer directly referred to simply as "Jesus" but as "Lord Jesus." He urged believers to align with biblical accuracy, stating that calling Him just "Jesus" in worship is improper.
The words of the man of God on the above subject read, "the church must recapture the truth of Jesus Christ and address him correctly. After the resurrection of Jesus Christ, no one ever directly addressed him as Jesus. He was addressed as Lord. That's different when you talk about him. We had some songs that we released earlier on before I started teaching on the subject, so if you have any of those old versions, you will see that they have been changed.
On when you're singing, Pastor Chris said that, "when you are singing to Jesus, don't call him Jesus; call him Lord Jesus. That's what is in the bible, and it is the accurate address, and don't let anybody deceive you and tell you it doesn't matter. Yes, because there are some people who can say to you that he doesn't matter. It matters.".
