UCL: Ancelotti worried about 2 positions ahead Real Madrid, Man City clash

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is worried about two key positions ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City.

The Los Blancos are set to lock horns with the Premier League champions in the Champions League playoffs on February 11 and 19, respectively.

Ancelotti's side head into the crucial two-legged fixture as the slight favorites due to Man City's struggles this season.

But the Spainsh LaLiga leaders have also not been convincing in recent weeks, having managed just one win in their last three matches.

They lost 1-0 to Espanyol in LaLiga, before narrowly beating Leganes in the Copa del Rey and then playing a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

However, according to Mundo Derpotivo (via Football Espana), Ancelotti is majorly concerned about the full-back positions heading into the Manchester City clash.

Ancelotti's side has suffered greatly from injuries to defenders this season, especially at centre-back.

Both Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are out for the season due to injuries.

David Alaba picked up a fresh adductor muscle injury after returning to action in January following a long layout because of an ACL.

As a result, Ancelotti has deployed the likes of Lucas Vazquez and Fran Garcia at the right and left back positions, respectively.

The pair have not looked convincing and there are doubts about whether they can be relied upon for the game against Pep Guardiola's side.

The report added that Ancelotti might deploy Federico Valverde at right-back, while Ferland Mendy could be handed a start at left-back against City.
