Manchester United have turned down a loan offer for young midfielder Ruben Curley as the January transfer window comes to a close as reported by Manchester World.
With head coach Ruben Amorim keen on strengthening his squad, the club has been active in the market, securing two signings while exploring further additions.
The Red Devils have already announced the arrivals of Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven and were looking to add a forward before the window shut.
Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel was a top target, but financial hurdles have complicated any potential deal. Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku has also been linked as an alternative.
Meanwhile, outgoings have also been a topic of discussion. Full-backs Tyrell Malacia and Harry Amass were made available for loan, with United particularly prioritizing a move for Amass.
However, the club are not actively seeking further academy departures this season.
Championship side Stoke City made an approach for Curley, hoping to secure the 19-year-old on loan.
However, United have opted to keep him at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.
The midfielder, who has made seven appearances in Premier League 2 and featured in the EFL Trophy, is out of contract in the summer, but the club holds an option to extend his deal.
With Stoke sitting in 18th place in the Championship, they are pushing to strengthen their squad, but their attempt to sign Curley has been unsuccessful.
As the transfer window closes, United are focused on finalizing their plans, both in terms of reinforcements and squad adjustments for the second half of the season.
