The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old young man for abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl into a coma in Adamawa.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command while addressing the issue said the suspect, Luka James, of Gwalantabal village in Song Local Government Area, was arrested after a resident reported him to the police.
"According to the report, on 31st January 2025, the victim was on her way to school when the suspect conspired with one Emmanuel, who is currently on the run, abducted her into a nearby bush and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her," the statement read.
"The victim was found unconscious at the scene and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Damkombo Morris, PSC(+), expressed worry over the ugly incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the investigation and ensure justice.
"The CP advised members of the public, especially parents, to develop a habit of close monitoring of their wards and provide timely information to the police."
