Iran unveils an upgraded version of its Bavar-373 air defense system in Neutralising targets

According to Mehr news agency, Iran has unveiled an upgraded version of its Bavar-373 air defense system, enhancing its operational capabilities and independence. The revelation came during Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to the missile achievements exhibition of the Ministry of Defense.

According to newly released images, the latest iteration of the Bavar-373 integrates its launchers with a dedicated tracking and fire-control radar, marking a significant advancement over the original version. Previously, the system's launchers lacked an onboard radar, requiring external radar support for target acquisition. Now, each launcher operates autonomously with an integrated detection radar, allowing for independent target engagement.

Reports suggest that each launcher in the upgraded Bavar-373 system consists of a detection radar alongside six missile launchers. Military analysts speculate that this enhancement will dramatically boost the system's engagement capacity, enabling it to track and neutralize multiple hostile targets simultaneously.

"If the new system benefits from new launchers, the engagement capability of this system will increase significantly," a defense expert noted.

Iran has invested heavily in domestic air defense technologies in recent years, seeking to enhance its deterrence capabilities amid regional tensions. The upgraded Bavar-373 underscores the country's commitment to self-reliance in military technology, particularly in countering potential aerial threats.

This development comes amid ongoing efforts by Iran's armed forces to strengthen national defense infrastructure. Military officials have hinted at additional upcoming advancements, with plans for a major air defense exercise in the near future.

The unveiling of the upgraded Bavar-373 highlights Iran's continued focus on modernizing its defense systems, reinforcing its position as a key player in regional military developments.
