Southampton ended a six-game losing streak in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday.

It was their first away win of the season, capitalizing on defensive lapses from the home side.

Ipswich, already struggling with squad depth, were forced to field Arijanet Muric in goal due to an injury to first-choice keeper Christian Walton.

Muric's return proved costly as his error led to the opening goal, with Joe Aribo finding the net to give Southampton an early advantage.

Ipswich responded well, with Liam Delap leveling the score just after the 30-minute mark.

The hosts continued to press and looked the more likely side to score, especially after Southampton suffered defensive setbacks with both Taylor Harwood-Bellis and his replacement Jack Stephens leaving the pitch injured.

However, Ipswich failed to capitalize on their dominance, and Southampton made them pay in the 87th minute.

Paul Onuachu struck late to secure all three points for the Saints, with Muric once again at fault in the buildup.

Despite the win, Southampton remain at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Ipswich missed a golden opportunity to escape the relegation zone, especially after Leicester City's loss to Everton.
