Europa League: Teams Man Utd, Tottenham, Ajax play next confirmed

The Europa League group stages were completed on Thursday night.

This has given fans a good idea of who their teams will play in the knockout stages.

Manchester United needed two second-half goals against Steaua Bucharest to finish third in the league phase.

The Red Devils have advanced to the last 16 and will play one of Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AZ Alkmaar or Midtjylland on March 6 and 13.

Their Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, thrashed Elfsborg 3-0 and will face one of Midtjylland, AZ Alkmaar, Real Sociedad or Olympiakos in the last 16.

Due to the structure of the draw, Spurs and United cannot meet until the final.

Goals from Bertrand Traore and Kian Fitz-Jim gave Ajax a 2-1 win against Galatasaray at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The Dutch club will face either PAOK Saloniki or Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The draw for the knockout play-offs will take place on Friday, January 31 and will determine opponents for clubs that finished between 9th and 24th.
