Man Utd now ready to agree £46million fee to seal star exit

According to The Faithful Mufc, Manchester United are nearing their first major signing of the January transfer window, which could also be their only addition this month.

The club is close to finalizing a deal for Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, with plans to utilize him as a left wing-back.

However, financial restrictions mean United may need to offload players to remain compliant with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. Selling academy graduates is one of the most effective ways to generate "pure profit," which could influence their transfer decisions.

Alejandro Garnacho has been frequently linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Napoli emerging as a potential destination. The Italian club sees him as a possible replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Initially, reports suggested United were asking for £60 million to sanction his departure during this transfer window.

Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, United have revised their stance and are open to selling him for around £46 million (€55 million). The report indicates that bringing in Dorgu has made it necessary for United to secure a major sale, which could explain why they are considering Garnacho's exit despite his potential.

While Dorgu has featured in attacking roles this season, his primary role in Ruben Amorim's system is expected to be as a wing-back.

This means Garnacho's possible departure wouldn't be a direct positional swap, raising questions about how it might impact the team.

With the transfer deadline approaching, it remains uncertain whether Napoli will finalize an agreement for Garnacho. The outcome of this potential deal will become clearer in the coming days.
