The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami while speaking at an international conference on AI in Tehran, boasting about the military equipment, and the strength of the Iranian Armed Forces in confronting any threat against the Iranian nation, boasted that the Iranian elite force was equipped with Artificial Intelligence technologies to better execute complex military operations.
According to the Iran News Agency, the Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, said, "The elite force is equipped with Artificial Intelligence technologies to better execute complex military operations. Understanding and using AI is essential for modern military strategies. For instance, when a hostile ship is detected, AI technology can help identify specific targets on the vessel, allowing for precise strikes while ensuring the safety of crew members. Advanced AI technology enables us to locate the desired ship using image matching."
Major General Hossein Salami disclosed that the new integration of Artificial Intelligence into the Iranian drones could strike large enemy vessels without causing much damage, adding that establishing the mass through AI can be crucial for generating a more powerful impact.
Regarding the impact of Artificial intelligence on the Iranian air defense in targeting the vessel of the enemies of the Iranian nation, the Iranian General, noted that the complexity of launching simultaneous attacks by multiple aircraft could overwhelm human decision-making. He also added that apart from the military sector, Artificial Intelligence could offer a quick fix in other sectors such as healthcare, rescue operations, aviation, and transportation.
