Chelsea urged to make Ben Chilwell U-turn after confirmed transfer - fans react

Chelsea fans have urged Enzo Maresca to reconsider his decision to freeze Ben Chilwell out of the squad following their latest transfer.

Renato Veiga officially joined Juventus on a loan deal until the end of the season on 27 January, and that has left the Blues without cover at left-back.

The Portugal international had been used at full-back throughout the season when Marc Cucurella was rested, and his departure has left supporters questioning who will take up that role.

Chilwell remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2027, but he has struggled for game time under Maresca due to not suiting his style of play.

The England international has only played 45 minutes of football this season in the EFL Cup, which has led to many believing his future lies outside of the club.

Chelsea could keep Ben Chilwell moving forward

According to Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail, Chilwell is now expected to stay at Chelsea beyond this month unless there is sudden late interest.

Even though Chelsea had hoped to loan him out for the remainder of the campaign, but fans are now pushing for Maresca to "play him" as they believe Chilwell has "proven all lengths of loyalty."
