After a 16-year-old boy was tragically killed, his friends paid him a final tribute by taking his coffin to the football field where he had spent countless hours playing, allowing him to score one last goal.
Alexander Martinez, a Mexican-American teenager, was fatally shot by police in Oaxaca, Mexico, while out buying a soda.
His sudden death sparked grief and outrage, with hundreds gathering in Acatlán de Pérez Figueroa to bid him farewell.
During the funeral, a grieving woman placed her hand on his coffin in an emotional moment.
His football teammates carried his casket to the field where they had shared many memories and honored him with one final goal.
More than a dozen of his teammates escorted him to the plaza where they used to play, saying goodbye in the way he would have cherished.
Alexander was shot in the head by police without warning while purchasing a soda. Officers did not give him a chance to stop or remove his face mask before opening fire. He died instantly, as police failed to provide any first aid.
