Full list of Premier League referees that are 'kept away' from officiating certain clubs amid Michael Oliver ban

The full list of Premier League referees that are banned from working on specific matches has been revealed after Michael Oliver revealed the games he cannot work on.

Veteran Premier League referee Oliver has been facing significant backlash in recent days after controversially handing Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly during the match against Wolves on Saturday.

In the wake of the match, an interview with the 39-year-old resurfaced revealing that there are several matches in the Premier League that Oliver is banned from officiating due to his allegiance to Newcastle United.

And Oliver isn't the only Premier League referee who is intentionally kept away from working on specific games, as the full list of officials suspended from specific games has been revealed.

In order to remove bias from decisions during a game, referees across the EFL typically do not work on matches involving the team that they support.

But, of all of the top referees that regularly officiate in the English top flight, only one supports a Premier League team, Jarred Gillett.

Australian-born referee Gillett has worked as a regular referee in the Premier League since 2021, but has never taken charge of a match involving boyhood club Liverpool.

The 38-year-old did once work as a fourth official in a Liverpool Legends game back in 2019, but will not work on any formal matches involving the Merseyside team.

Paul Tierney, despite being suspended for a clash with Jurgen Klopp, does not support any team that directly rivals Liverpool and instead shouts for Wigan Athletic.

Tierney has worked as a Premier League referee since 2014, meaning that he has never had to worry about officiating his club as Wigan have spent the past 11 years outside of the top flight.

Another Premier League referee that is often subject to the wrath of fans online and in stadiums, is Anthony Taylor.

Despite being born in Manchester, Taylor doesn't support United or City, but instead is follows non-league side Altrincham, as confirmed by the club president Grahame Rowley

Alongside his brother Bobby, who worked in the Premier League between 2013 and 2018, current Premier League referee Andrew Madley is a lifelong fan of local club Huddersfield Town.

What teams do other Premier League referees support?

Stuart Atwell - Luton Town

Simon Hooper - Swindon Town

Darren England - Barnsley

Chris Kavanagh - Droylsden

Craig Pawson - Sheffield United

Tony Harrington - Hartlepool

Peter Bankes - Unknown but does not referee Liverpool or Everton games
