Andrey Santos' home was reportedly burgled while playing a league match for Strasbourg.
Chelsea loan starlet Andrey Santos found himself in a shocking situation over the weekend, as thieves targeted his home while he was on the pitch for Strasbourg.
The 20-year-old midfielder had every reason to celebrate after scoring in Strasbourg's thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Lille in Ligue 1.
However, his joy was short-lived when he discovered the brazen burglary at his residence.
In a fiery Instagram story, later deleted as per The Sun, Santos vented his frustration, stating:
"People from Strasbourg, I've always respected everyone, they were cowardly while I was playing today! Whoever stole [from] my house has 24 hours to return everything."
French newspaper Le Parisien, revealed that the burglars had broken down the door of his home, making away with valuables, including jewellery, collectively worth around ₦825 million (€500,000).
The audacious crime left the young footballer visibly shaken as he called for the return of his stolen items.
Andrey Santos continues to shine in loan spell at Strasbourg
Santos joined Chelsea in January 2023 for £18.5 million from Vasco da Gama but has yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues.
Instead, he has been loaned out to further develop his skills, with his current stint at Strasbourg proving fruitful.
So far, he has made 19 appearances, scoring eight goals and contributing two assists.
Strasbourg authorities are yet to confirm if there are any leads in the ongoing investigation.
