Garnacho seals agreement in £145m spending spree

Chelsea are said to be weighing up a late move for Alejandro Garnacho

There is still time for Chelsea to make a couple of exciting January signings, with the Blues having been tipped to leave it late in their pursuit of reinforcements.

They have been taking a calmer approach to the market than in previous windows, having failed to welcome any new players over the last few weeks.

That could be about to change, though, with a number of high-profile targets said to be under consideration at Stamford Bridge.

Jhon Duran has also been linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge

Garnacho strikes agreement

Chelsea are known to be interested in bringing Alejandro Garnacho to west London, having reportedly held talks with Manchester United at the end of last month.

They have been widely tipped to submit a formal bid for the winger, who is said to be valued at around £60million by the Red Devils.

Garnacho would be capable of making a huge impact for Chelsea as they look to consolidate a place in the Premier League's top four.

They would also be able to sell him for a profit in the future if he develops well, helping to ensure their compliance with financial regulations.

Duran joins in £85m deal

Chelsea have also been linked with a surprise move for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, but the Blues are not the only club in the hunt.

West Ham have already seen a £57m bid rejected while Arsenal and Saudi giants Al Nassr are said to be keeping tabs on the forward.

Villa were quick to rebuff the Hammers but talkSPORT have reported that a bid of around £85m could suffice, which is where Chelsea could steal a march on their rivals.

Duran is a striker with world-class potential and could be worth every penny for the Blues if they are prepared to stump up the cash.

Nkunku and two others leave

Christopher Nkunku has been left frustrated by his lack of minutes at Chelsea, leading to speculation that he could be about to leave.

United have been credited with a desire to land the Frenchman in a separate deal to the one that could see Garnacho move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea could also benefit from getting rid of some other fringe players, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka among those who could depart.

According to The Mirror, both players have been offered to Everton in exchange for Armando Broja being sent back early from his loan spell at Goodison Park.

Moving all three players on would help Chelsea to trim their wage bill, potentially making room for the likes of Garnacho and Duran to come in.
